You might ask how did I find the Pink Pig in Cherry Log, GA. Well I was looking for a place to eat in and around the Blue Ridge area. As I began to search the internet the Pink Pig continued coming up in my search. I had never heard of it but thought why not give it a try. Well am I glad that we did. Here is a little bit about the Pink Pig. It was originally built in 1950 and was a Grist mill and Country store. Founded by Bud Holloway he began serving Pit-cooked BBQ with special sauce and Brunswick stew in a cast iron pot. Bud’s Granddaughter, Samantha now owns and runs the restaurant. Here is a couple of outside pictures. Notice the sign on the side, it doesn’t get any better than this one.
As we walked in everyone said Hey and we were seated. We started off with the salad with a secret garlic dressing. It had a wonderful flavor of garlic and tangy. We then had a BBQ sandwich, onion rings, green beans, sautéed mushrooms, and a grilled chicken salad. The food was great.
I need to add that the Onion rings were so good with a crunch as you bite into them. The horseradish dip was to die for.
Even the sign says watch out for Curves.
They also had an interesting bench outside.
If you are on your way to blue ridge or just out for a day trip make sure to go by and visit the folks at Bud’s Pink Pig. Tell the owner Samantha hello from us and enjoy the food. This was a great find for us on our journey looking for great drives, dines, and wines. You can visit them by clicking Bud’s Pink Pig Directions.
